How do I make sure my phone is unlocked. I just left Google fi, but data won't work with new carrier

I just left Google fi, had my number ported to Pure Talk. Data does not work in my phone. After much tech support, pure talk wonders if the phone was unlocked by Google fi. How do I find out if it was unlocked like they said it was?

M&C- Welcome to the Google Fi Help Community. Google Fi doesn't lock their phones so it should work but you may need to add the APNs for your service to work.

Pure talk was wondering if the phone was unlocked because the data will not work even after resetting the APN, rebooting and even a factory reset. No updates are needed. The SIM card works in my husband's phone. So question remains why data will not work on this phone after switching carriers

Yes. I originally got it from Google fi, so all there phones are unlocked I was recently  told by Google fi.

Also it was suggested to reset network settings

Just did more tech support with pure talk and they had me reset the network and after a restart and setting the APN again it resolved the problem. Thank you for your help.
