Some inbound phone calls get an error message "Google subscriber is not available."

One client complained that he repeatedly got the error message "Google subscriber is not available" when he calls my cell phone. He texted me to let me know what was happening.

Other calls come through just fine.

I want to know how to track down and resolve the cause.

Hey Mark!

Welcome to the Forum!

Were there other callers affected by an inability to contact you? Or just one?

There was a telecomm issue yesterday relating to routing calls through T-mobile. That may explain it. If the problem persists, let us know.

I know about the one caller specifically because he texted me. Other calls came through from other people but If it happened to anyone else and they didn't contact me by other means, I wouldn't know.

My client was able to play the message for me. It says "The google Fi customer you are trying to call is not available." It then prompts him to leave a voicemail.

I was not on the phone or doing any activity at the time. What would cause my phone to be unavailable?

If that continues to happen I recommend contacting support so they can look into it for you.  You should see a link at the top right of this page or you can find contact options in the Fi app.

So far there are 4 callers that can't get through and receive the same error message. With some, my phone rings once, then the caller is redirected to the error message and is prompted to text me.

I called support but they were unable to get to the bottom of it.

If you don't mind giving a current case ID number, I'm willing to submit an escalation for you.

Was there any answers on this?  I am having the same issue.  The calls are making it to my phone but i can only see them if i go under the specific number.  I do have filter spam calls on but the number trying to call me is in my contact list.

My husband and I are also experiencing this issue.  As the original poster mentioned, we only know if people let us know.  I often call my husband and will get this error, but am reaching out to support today as I missed a very important call.  Her assistant let me know that they tried to call me and received that error message.  He had me call the repair netowrk number and sent me steps to troubleshoot if it happens again.....if people notify me of course.

I just got my new Moto G7 activated and my number ported over from Verizon to Google Fi.  I can make calls, but cannot receive call from my wife's phone at all, although cell signal strength is showing about 1/4 of the way up.  Texting is working fine.  I haven't seen any real explanation in this thread over the several months it's been up.  Any ideas?

Same issue for 2 SIMs in roaming. Support spent a lot of time and was very knowledgable, but problem wasn't resolved.

So, I don't recommend to switch to Google Fi. Will rollback to ATT.
