Calling and going straight to voicemail

I need to call someone as for procedural reasons, and give them an update, but I don't want to actually talk to them.

Ask I've tried was one website which prompted me to see if Google Fi had a feature.

Patrick is correct. The person receiving the call can open your contact in the Contacts app, click on the three-dots in the upper right-hand corner, and select Route to voicemail. Or they can put their phone in Do Not Disturb mode where EVERYTHING goes to voicemail.

You, as the person making the call, have no control over how your call is handled.

A few years ago there was a huge attack of spammers who sent their spam directly to voicemail for carriers who offered the feature, so most if not all carriers have removed the ability for a caller to do this.

I would think that is totally under the control of the recipient. What if they don't have voicemail or have not set it up?

Can you send a text?

I guess I was unclear. I wanted to call someone and skip straight to their voicemail. I didn't actually want to talk to them, but I wanted it to seem like I tried.

I ended up using an app called 'slydial'.

Yes yes, nothing like that. I was just wondering if fi had a way to do it without me downloading an extra app. Thank you for the info!
