Overview
This article is for people who use Google Pay in Russia.
Important:
- Payments with Google Pay aren’t working at this time, as some of the international payment networks no longer support your cards added to a mobile wallet.
- Making new transactions with previously added forms of payment is also not available.
What is Google Pay?
With Google Pay, you can:
- Fill in forms automatically on Chrome.
- Save digital copies of your loyalty, reward, membership, and gift cards in Google pay app.
- Store digital copies of boarding passes or event tickets with participating airlines and event ticket providers.
Google Pay may be preinstalled on your phone
If you have an Android phone, you might notice the Google Pay app in your device’s list of apps. Some Android phones in countries or regions where the app is available come with Google Pay already installed.
You can disable the app at any time.
Uninstall or disable Google Pay
If you installed Google Pay on your device, you can uninstall it. Sometimes if Google Pay is preinstalled on your device, you can’t uninstall it, but you can disable it.
To delete or disable Google Pay:
- On your device, go to the Settings app Apps & notifications.
- On some devices, you might need to go to the Settings app Apps Google Pay.
- Tap Google Pay.
- If you can't find "Google Pay," tap See all apps.
- Tap Uninstall or Disable.

- Open the Google Pay app .
- At the top left, tap Menu Payment methods.
- Tap the payment method that you want to remove.
- At the top right, tap More Remove payment method.
Remove a debit or credit card from Android device settings
- On your Android device, open Settings .
- Tap Google Services & preferences Settings for Google apps Google Pay.
- Tap the payment method that you want to remove.
- Tap More Remove payment method.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Nickname a payment method
- Open the Google Pay app .
- At the top left, tap Menu Payment methods.
- Tap the payment method that you want to nickname.
- Scroll to and tap Add a nickname.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Tip: Your custom name can only be letters and fewer than 25 characters.
Remove a payment method nickname
- Open the Google Pay app .
- At the top left, tap Menu Payment methods.
- Tap the payment method that you want to remove a nickname from.
- Scroll to and tap the payment method’s nickname.
- Tap Delete Save.
Remove a payment method
- Go to payments.google.com.
- At the top, tap Payment methods.
- Next to a card or bank account, tap Remove Remove.
Tip: If you remove a card used in Google Pay stores, you must also remove it from your phone. Choose your phone type above, then follow the steps to remove a payment method.
Nickname a payment method
- Sign in to payments.google.com.
- At the top, tap Payment methods.
- Select the payment method that you want to nickname.
- Tap Edit.
- Next to “Card nickname,” tap Edit .
- Enter your custom name.
- Tap Update.
Tip: Your custom name must be letters and fewer than 25 characters.

- Sign in to payments.google.com.
- At the top, tap Payment methods.
- Select the payment method that you want to edit.
- Tap Edit.
- Next to “Card nickname,” tap Edit .
- Delete your custom name.
- Tap Update.
Use loyalty cards, gift cards, or offers
You can store digital copies of your loyalty, reward, membership, gift cards, and special offers (like coupons, promotions, and discounts) for thousands of merchants in Google Pay.
Add a loyalty card or gift cardAdd a loyalty card by scanning it or sign in to your loyalty card account and then save the card.
- Open the Google Pay app .
- Swipe up from the bottom.
- Tap Add a card Loyalty or Gift card.
- Find and tap the merchant or program name.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Open the Google Pay app .
- Touch the bottom of the screen and swipe up.
- Press and hold the card you want to move.
- Swipe up or down to move the card.
- Release the card.
If you find G Pay Save to Google Pay in a retailer’s app or on their website, tap it to add the offer.
When you’re ready to check out at a merchant:
- Open the Google Pay app .
- Touch the bottom of the screen and swipe up.
- Tap the loyalty card you want to use.
- Ask the cashier to scan the barcode.
- If your card doesn’t have a barcode, read your membership number to the cashier.
Cashier can't scan card
If the cashier is having trouble scanning your loyalty card, gift card, or offer, try the following:
- Clean your screen.
- Check for cracks over the barcode.
- If scanning doesn't work, ask the cashier to type the code directly into their register.
Loyalty card disappeared from Google Pay
Added card from Gmail
The pass will be removed from Google Pay if you delete the email with the loyalty card. If you delete a Gmail message, it stays in your trash for 30 days. After that, the email is deleted permanently.
You can add the card again using the app.
Added card another way
Your loyalty card might disappear if you:
- Do a factory reset on your device.
- Remove your Google Account from your device.
- Clear all data from Google Play services or Google Pay.
To continue using your cards with Google Pay, add them to the app again.
Use flight or event tickets
You can store digital copies of boarding passes or event tickets with participating airlines and event ticket providers.
Add a ticket to Google Pay- Buy your ticket through a participating airline’s or venue’s app or website or a ticket broker app or website.
- When you’re done checking out, tap the Save to Google Pay button.
- If you don’t have the Google Pay app installed, this button will open a web page where you can finish up.
- Open the Google Pay app .
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture Pay.
- Touch the bottom of the screen and swipe up.
- Tap the ticket.
- Show the barcode or QR code on your phone so the attendant can scan it. If you have more than one ticket, be sure to show each barcode.
Important: This feature is available for all Google Pixel phones, version 3 and up. To add a boarding pass with a screenshot, you need to install the Google Pay app on your phone and have an active internet connection.
- Open the email, app, or website with your boarding pass.
- Find your boarding pass. If it's in an email, you may need to open the .pdf.
- Center the QR code or barcode on your screen.
- Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time, for a few seconds. Learn how to take a screenshot.
- On the “Screenshot saved” notification, tap Add to Google Pay. A browser window will open to pay.google.com.
- Tap Save View boarding pass. The boarding pass will appear in the Google Pay app. You don’t need an internet connection to view your saved boarding passes.
Tip: If your boarding pass is in one of your recent apps, switch to it and at the bottom of the screen tap Screenshot. Learn how to switch between apps.
- On your Android phone, touch and hold the Home button or say "OK Google."
- Say a command like “my flights” or “show me my flight.”

You can export a copy of your data or delete certain info that you no longer want Google to save.
Find your Google Pay data
You can find your Google Pay data online at myactivity.google.com/product/gpay, on the Google Pay app, and at payments.google.com.
- Transaction info: To find transactions made in stores or online, go to the Google Pay app. To find all other transactions, go to the Google Pay app, myactivity.google.com/product/gpay, or payments.google.com.
- Payment methods and gift cards: Go to the Cards tab of the Google Pay app. For other info, go to payments.google.com.

Tip: You can access personalization settings from your Google Account.
Info about your mobile device’s background location allows the Google Pay app to notify you when you can use these apps. This feature gives you helpful info like where you can use your saved payment and loyalty cards. You can control when Google Pay collects your Location History at any time.
- Go to myaccount.google.com.
- If you haven't already, sign in to your Google Account.
- In the search box, type
Activity controls
and tap it. - Turn Location History on or off.
Delete transaction activity of a specific payment method
Important: Data that you delete from myactivity.google.com can't be used for Google Pay personalization. Some data may still be kept in your Google Account for business or legal requirements, or to provide essential Google Pay services.
Important: These steps delete info from your Google Account. Deleting tap activity also deletes in-store taps from your device. To delete other data from your device, go to the next section.
To delete specific events such as payments in stores, in apps, and on the web, and contactless payment attempts from your past Google Pay activity:
- Go to myactivity.google.com.
- If you haven’t already, sign in to your Google Account.
- Find the date of the activity.
- Under the activity that you want to delete, select Details.
- On this page, you can delete the activity that you no longer want.
- To delete certain items: Next to the item, select More Delete.
- To delete all items on a certain date: Next to the date, select Delete .

Tip: Though you can delete certain info from appearing on your profile, Google keeps some info for regulatory purposes.
Important: If you delete specific Google Pay activity, it doesn’t delete all your Google Pay data or stop new data from being collected. To delete all Google Pay data, you must permanently delete your Google Pay Service.
- Go to your Google Account service deletion page.
- Sign in to your account.
- Next to "Google Pay," click Delete .
- Check the boxes.
- Click Delete Google Pay.
Delete Google Pay app data from your device
Important: These steps might be different if your device has an old version of Android. Learn how to update your Android version.
Step 1: Remove payment methods from your device- On your device, open the Settings app.
- Tap Google Settings for Google apps Google Pay.
- Next to each payment method, tap More Remove payment method Yes remove.
- Continue until you remove all payment methods on your device.
- On your device, open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps Google Pay.
- If you can't find “Google Pay,” tap See all apps Google Pay.
- Tap Storage & cache Clear storage Clear cache.
Export your Google Pay data
You can export a copy of your Google Pay data for your personal records.
- On your computer, go to takeout.google.com.
- If you haven’t already, sign in to your Google Account.
- Make sure Google Pay is turned on. You can turn off any Google apps or services you don’t want to export data from.
- To change the type of data that you want to export, click All activity and saved items included.
- Click Next step.
- Select your file type, frequency, and destination.
- Click Create export.
