We're aware of an issue with parent access codes. To attempt to resolve this issue, please update Family Link and enter your parent access code again. You can also unlock your child’s device with your parent password or directly in Family Link. If the issue persists, sign into your parent/family manager account and contact support for additional help.

Unlock your child's device

You can use your parent account password to do things like stop bedtime or remove your child's Google account from their device if it's connected to the internet.

  1. On your child's device, click Ask for more time.
  2. Enter the password for the parent's account used to supervise the child.
    • If you don't see the password option: Make sure the child's device is turned on and connected to the internet.
  3. Click Next.

Unlock your child's device with parent access code

  • To unlock your child's device, you can also use the parent access code. You get the code in the Family Link app Family Link or on the web. You won’t receive this number through email or SMS.

Tips:

  • Whether or not your child can control their own account settings doesn't change the settings themselves. It’s recommended for parents to make sure the settings are correct after they change this control.
  • You can also manage these settings from g.co/YourFamily.

  1. On your device, open Family Link Family Link.
  2. At the top left, select your child’s profile and then Parent access code.
