Why are my Classroom assignment due dates appear on the wrong date in Google Agenda?

Hello:

When I program an assignment with a due date in Google Classroom, it shows up in Google Calendar on the day after the due date. For example, if it is due on October 6th, I can find it on October 7th in Google Calendar.

It also appears in the wrong language. I am a French teacher so my GAFE account is in French but programmed assignments appear in English in Google Calendar. It says "Assignment" rather than "Devoir".

If the assignment is not programmed in advance, it appears on the correct date and in the right language.

There is no problem with my classroom agenda. Every assignment is where it is supposed to be and in French.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Annie,

Welcome to the Google Classroom Help Community.

I understand that the due date of assignments and language in Google Classroom and Google Calendar are not being synced.

You may try following instructions and see how it goes:

1. Please make sure to set the time zone on your device correctly.

2. Try checking if the correct time zone is selected in Google calendar for the Classroom. Here are the steps:
-Go to settings menu (gear icon on top right).
-At the left side bar under settings for my calendars, find the Classes for which you want to check the time zone.
-On the main window, you will get the drop down menu to select the right time zone for that Class.

In addition, here are the steps to check language settings on Google Calendar:
1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Language & input > Languages.
3. Select a language.

If the issue continues after setting up the correct time zone and language, you may want to try the troubleshooting steps below:

1. Clear the browser cache.
2. Test the issue on incognito / private mode of a browser.
3. Try disabling any extensions.
4. Try using a different browser.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Regards,
Sariah.

I have the same issue with the calendar (not with French).  EVERY single calendar I have made with Google Classroom is set to 0:00 GMT and I'm now going in and changing them all to EST-New York.  Is there a way that my Google Classroom can automatically use my default time zone?  I don't know if this will fix it but I hope so. Thank you!

I changed all my calendars to Eastern Time and I'm still having this issue for only some of the assignments.  Some of them show up as due on the correct date, some are a day off.  I currently have 6 Google Classroom classes and we are working "hybrid" so it's important that students who are home can use their calendar to show assignments and keep themselves organized.  What else can I do now that I have changed all the timezones?
