Hello we face exactly the same problem. If on iOS we try to share a file from an app it is not attached but inserted as a link to a local file. Like file:///private/var/mobile.
Actually it does not even work when sharing from the Google Drive app.

Hi José and Bolesław,

Thanks a lot for reaching out on the Google Classroom Help Community.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with uploading files to Google Classroom app on iOS.

Could you help clarify a few things to understand the issue better:

@Jose: May I know, if you're experiencing the same issue while uploading files from Drive?

@José and Bolesław: Could you confirm, if you were able to successfully attach notability files before?

Meanwhile, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Classroom app and see how it goes:

To uninstall the Classroom app:

1. Touch and hold the app icon until the phone enters its "jiggle mode,"
2. Tap the "X" in the corner of the app.
3. You'll then be prompted to delete the app

To reinstall the Classroom app:

1. Tap App Store on the Home screen.
2. Tap the "search" icon on the bottom right of the screen, enter "Google Classroom" when the search bar opens.
3. Tap on the "cloud" icon to start installing the app again.

In addition to the above steps, here's an article for more information on attaching files.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Sansa

It was working before without any problems, i have  tried to uninstall and install classroom again without much success

I even messaged the notability staff and they told me that the issue was on the import part of google classroom

Hopefully in the next update this issue is fixed

Hello,
Thanks for the prompt reply.

1. I have already tried to delete the Classroom app and reinstall. It did not help.
2. I was able to attach files from various apps before. They were always attached as a file. Currently they are attached as a link to a local file on my device which obviously will not work. You can tell that form the screenshoot ( file:///private/var/mobile....). This is the source app container.
3. I have tried on several devices and the result was always the same.
4. The iOS version is 13.7 so it's not even related to iOS 14

Best
Boleslaw

Yes...before the file was just easily attached as a PDF. Now it is a file destination and when you click post, the message is “oops something went wrong.” Why the change? I’m glad that you said it is not an iOS 14 issue.

I have had the same issue as well.  Last week I had no problem with exporting to Google Classroom but this week I keep getting the same message no matter if I export pages as a PDF or Image... It is very frustrating because that is how I send my notes out to my students.
