Work with personally assigned docs

This page is for students.

When you open an assignment or question in Classroom, there might be a document with your name on it attached to the assignment. That’s your personal copy of the document. You can edit and submit it for your assignment. If you remove it from your submission, you can create a copy, edit it again, and resubmit it.

When you turn in the assignment, your teacher sees the document labeled with your name.

My class has the Your work page

Edit your personal document

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Click the class and then choose an option:
    • Click the assignment.
    • Click Your Work and then on the assignment, click View Details.
  3. Click the thumbnail to open and review the document.
  4. Edit the document as needed.

  5. Click Turn In and confirm.

Remove your personal document and create a new copy

To remove your personal document from your submission:

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Click the class and then choose an option:
    • Click the assignment.
    • Click Your Work and then on the assignment, click View Details.
  3. Click Unsubmit and confirm.
  4. Next to the name of the document, click Remove Remove.

    Your document is removed from your submission.

To make a copy of your personal document:

  1. Click Make A Copy to edit your document again.
  2. (Optional) To turn in your submission, click Turn In and confirm.

My class doesn't have the Your work page

  2. Click the class and then click the assignment.
  3. Click the thumbnail to open and review the document.
  4. Edit the document as needed.

  1. Click Make A Copy to edit your document again.
  2. (Optional) To turn in your submission, click Turn In and confirm.
