Share a webpage with your students

Note: The Share to Classroom Chrome extension is being deprecated. If you installed the extension, it will automatically uninstall on August 15, 2020.

You can share a webpage from your computer with your students using the Share to Classroom Chrome extension. Your students can also send webpages to your computer using the extension.

You can only use the Share to Classroom extension with Chrome Browser on computers.

Share a webpage with your students

You and your students must have the extension installed to share webpages with each other. For instructions, see Install the Share to Classroom Chrome extension.

Note: When you share a webpage, it can't be undone.

  1. If you haven’t already, sign in to your Classroom account.
  2. Open Chrome Browser and go to the webpage that you want to share.
  3. Next to the address bar, click Share to Classroom "".

  4. Click your class.

    Note: If you haven’t created any classes, you'll get an error message. Click Open Classroom to create a class.
  5. Next to Push to students, click the Down arrow ""and thenchoose an option:
    • To share the webpage in the browsers of all active students, click Push to studentsand thenPush.
    • To attach the webpage to a post, you can select:
      • Create assignment, enter your assignment, and click Assign.
      • Ask question, enter your question, and click Ask.
      • Make announcement, enter your announcement, and click Post.

        (Optional) To view the post on the Stream page, click View.

Note: If you want to add other attachments, create or edit the post in Classroom. With the extension, you can only share the webpage with the post.

Review recently shared webpages

  1. If you haven’t already, sign in to Classroom.
  2. In Chrome Browser, next to the address bar, click Share to Classroom "".

  3. Select the webpages that you want to see:
    • To view webpages you pushed to your students in the last 18 hours, click Pushed to students.
    • To view webpages your students pushed to you in the last 18 hours, click Received from students.

Mute notifications when students share a webpage

  1. If you haven’t already, sign in to Classroom.
  2. In Chrome Browser, next to the address bar, click Share to Classroom "".

  3. Click Settings "".
  4. Next to Show browser notifications when students push webpages to me, click Turn off "".
