Configure YouTube restricted mode

This article is for G Suite Administrators

As the Google Apps administrator for Classroom, you can configure settings in the Google Admin console to restrict access to YouTube videos by allowing only approved videos to be watched.

The settings allow you to:

  • Restrict access to all YouTube videos for your network.
  • Manage school permissions for YouTube.
  • Whitelist video content by domain.

The settings you configure apply to users on their Google Apps for Education accounts, school networks, and signed-in devices. To also apply restrictions to signed-out users, follow the instructions in Restrict YouTube content on your network to update your network configuration.
