Answer a question

A teacher posts questions in the class stream and you answer them in the same place. A question can have attachments, such as a Google Drive item, a link, or a YouTube video.

If your class doesn't have the Classwork page, go here instead.

Answer a short-answer question

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Click the class.
  3. Click Classwork.

  4. Click the question you want to answer.

    Click question

  5. If there's an attachment, click it to review it.
  6. Enter your answer, click Submit, and confirm.
    Note: You can't click Submit if you haven't entered an answer.
  7. (Optional) To add a class comment, click Add class comment, enter the comment, and click Post.
  8. (Optional) To add a private question or comment for your teacher, click the question, click Add private comment, enter your comment, and click Post.

    Note: If your teachers allows, you may see your classmates answers after you submit your own answer.

Answer a multiple-choice question

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Click the class.
  3. Click Classwork.

  4. Click the question you want to answer.

    Click question

  5. If there's an attachment, click it to review it.
  6. Select your answer, click Submit, and confirm.

    Note: You can't click Submit if you haven't entered an answer.

  7. (Optional) To add a class comment, click Add class comment, enter a comment, and click Post.
  8. (Optional) To add a private question or comment for your teacher, click the question, click Add private comment, enter your comment, and click Post.

    Note: If your teacher allows, you may see the number of classmates who chose each answer. Your answer is highlighted in your stream.

View and reply to classmates' answers

For short-answer questions, your teacher might allow you to see and reply to your classmates' answers after you submit your own answer. If your teacher doesn’t allow it, you won’t have the option See classmate answers on the question. 

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Click the class.
  3. Click Classwork.
  4. Click the question to open it.
  5. On the question, click See classmate answers.

    Tap See classmate answers

  6. (Optional) To reply to a classmate's answer, next to their answer, click Reply, enter your reply, and click Post.

Edit your answer

Your teacher might allow you to edit a short-answer question after you submit it.

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Click the class.
  3. Click Classwork.
  4. On the question, click Edit.
    Note: You'll only see this option if your teacher turns it on.

    Click Edit

  5. Enter any changes and click Submit.

 

My class doesn't have the Classwork page

Answer a short-answer question

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

  2. Click the class.

    You’ll see the question in the stream.

  3. If there's an attachment, click it to review it.
