Navigate your Classroom Homepage

When you sign in to Google Classroom, you see a personalized dashboard tailored to your role. This homepage highlights your most important tasks, whether you teach, learn, or manage your school.

Important: Because your homepage is personalized to your settings and features, you might not see every module listed below. 

Switch between your views

Your homepage defaults to the role you perform most often in Classroom. If you have multiple roles (such as a teacher taking a professional development class), you can easily change your dashboard.

To switch your view:

1. Visit classroom.google.com
2. Go to the top right of the homepage.
3. Click the view toggle (for example, Teaching, Enrolled, or Admin).

Customize your layout

You can organize your homepage to show only the information you need.

• To collapse or expand a module, click the Up arrow or Down arrow at the top right of the section.
• Classroom remembers your preferences, so collapsed modules stay hidden the next time you visit.

Tip: If a module does not have current content (such as no upcoming assignments), it automatically hides from your homepage.

Teaching view

Teachers can use the homepage to track student progress and access instructional tools. In the teaching view, you will find these modules:

• Recently Due: Contains recently due assignments(shows up to 5 assignments due in the last 7 days that need your review).
• Class highlights: Shows helpful analytics on student performance. Click an item to go directly to the grading tool or student work.
• Feature spotlight: Provides quick links to discover AI tools, video activities, practice sets, and Read Along.
• Classes: Displays your active class cards.

Enrolled view

Students can use the homepage to stay organized and keep up with their coursework. In the enrolled view, you will find these modules:

• Due soon: Displays up to 5 upcoming assignments across all your enrolled classes that are due within the next 7 days. Click an assignment to go directly to your work.
• Learn with Gemini: If eligible, hover over an assignment and click "Learn with Gemini" to reveal a menu of study actions using your assignment context.
• Class learning tools: If eligible, access AI-powered study tools assigned by your teachers, such as Gemini notebooks and Gemini Gems.
• Classes: Displays your active class cards so you can jump straight into a specific course. To view hidden classes, click the down arrow at the bottom of the module to expand it.

Admin view

Administrators and education leaders can use the homepage for school-wide oversight and management. In the admin view, you will find these modules:

• School analytics: Shows top-level metrics for your organization, such as assignment completion rates, average grades, and active student percentages.
• Feature spotlight: Provides quick links to support educators and students, manage admin console activities, share tools with educators.
• New in education and Classroom: Highlights the latest features in the Google education space.
