Google has partnered with 1EdTech® and Common Good Learning Tools (CGLT) to bring learning standards to Classroom.
Learn about local learning standards in Classroom
Google's partnership with 1EdTech® and Common Good Learning Tools (CGLT) facilitates the integration of a selection of learning standards within Classroom so they are accessible for curriculum alignment and instructional planning.
Understand technical limitations for standards ingestion
Local learning standards are ingested into Classroom in the 1EdTech Competencies and Academic Standards Exchange® (CASE®) format via the Satchel Rosetta Exchange. Satchel Rosetta Exchange is a publicly-available portal for learning standards from countries and issuing agencies. Occasionally, some standards in Satchel Rosetta Exchange might not appear in Classroom due to the following technical limitations:
- Delayed ingests: Google processes and ingests standards periodically, meaning recently published standards may experience delays before appearing in the product.
- Format violations: Standards that do not safely comply with technical best practices or the CASE® format will be blocked.
- Adoption status: Only standards marked as "Implemented" or "Adopted" will be added to Classroom.
Onboard additional learning standards
If you wish to add local academic standards not currently in Google Classroom, they must be formatted correctly and hosted. Common Good Learning Tools offers pathways to convert static documents (.pdf, spreadsheets) into the compliant data structure needed to add standards to the Satchel Rosetta Exchange REST API.
You can contact contact@commongoodlt.com to initiate the onboarding and publishing of your academic standards.
Important: Third-party providers may charge for specialized engineering, development, and hosting resources. Learn more about these costs.
Though you'll need to work with our partners to get the standards added to Classroom, you can let Google know which standards are missing.
