Set up Assignments in a Schoology course

You can install Assignments and set it up to use with courses in Schoology.

Step 1: Generate an access key and secret code

You don’t need to be a Google Workspace administrator to generate an access key and code.

  1. Go to assignments.google.com/admin and sign in with your Google Workspace for Education account.
  2. Under LTI access keys and secret codes, click Generate new pair.
  3. Next to Select your LMS, click the Down arrow and thenSchoologyand thenGenerate.
  4. Under Consumer key and Shared secret, copy the codes.
    Tip: Keep this window open until you finish the setup in Schoology.

Step 2: Add Assignments to a course

  1. Sign in to Schoology and find the Assignments app.
  2. Click Install LTI App.
  3. Open a course.
  4. Click Course Optionsand thenEdit Privacy/Course Settings.
  5. At the top, click External Toolsand thenGoogle Assignments.
  6. In the Consumer Key and Shared Secret fields, enter the codes from step 1.
  7. Click Submit.

When you add materials to the course, Assignments is now an option.
