Hi,

In previous versions of Google Earth Pro, the Tour Guide was selected in the View menu.  In the most recent version, currently 7.3.2.5776, the Tour Guide has been removed entirely.  We suggest you update.

I hope that helps.

Hi Keith
I've got a similar problem, but have to stick with GE 7.1.2.2041 to be able to use a program called SAT2CHART (previously GE2KAP). I had the latest GE professional version, and uninstalled it, replaced it with 7.1.2.2041. The "Tour Guide" option is now checked and greyed out. To use the SAT2CHART software, I think I need to have the option switched off. Even though I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling 7.1.2.2041 a couple of times (and rebooting in between), it retains the greyed out option. I'm guessing there must be GE setting files which are retained on my laptop (Windows 10), even after an uninstall.
Is there some way I can uncheck the Tour guide?
Thanks very much
Sally

I had to go through Paul Higgins instructions and install ver. 7.1.2 to try to understand.

The Tour Guide has been removed from the more recent versions.  That must have made it unavailable to ver. 7.1.2 also.  I don't know why the Tour Guide check mark would make any difference.  The Tour Guide itself isn't present in the viewer.  It is a bar across the bottom of the screen.  I also checked in the Windows registry and there's no registry entry for that setting.

Since the 7.1.2 download comes from Mr. Higgins, I think he would have said something.  He seems to have covered everything else in detail.  I think you should contact him.  His email is on the index page of the help file.

I'm surprised that version 7.1.2 still works.  Google's support is only supposed to go back to 7.1.5.  In addition, I don't know how long it will be before Google turns off everything before version 7.3.2.  They've expressed a desire to do that.
