The link to MS help is for Windows 7. I got this error code trying to install Google Earth Pro in Windows 10.

I had the same error, could not find a resolution. No disk utility finds anything wrong with my disk partition or registry. No other software installers give me any issues either. I found this list of Google Earth Pro installers and downloaded and installed the latest version without error: https://support.google.com/earth/answer/168344?hl=en

Same here as Mr Cardenas, except that even the direct links don't work now.  No other known problems with my Windows 7 machine.  They all give "Failed - Network error", but my Internet connection is fine - been providing my customers with remote support all evening without problems.

Thank you, Daniel Cardenas.  The link you posted to the full installers for Google Earth Pro worked great.  It is the solution for when the installer fails and displays the error code. Don't go down the rabbit hole of trying to get the quick installer to cooperate with Windows.

There is the possibility that it is not a Microsoft problem at all, but a Google problem. Despite not ever having any problems with any other installers, I got the error repeatedly from the GE download page and after researching the error, I ran a registry cleaner per Microsoft advice. A few old dll's were deleted, but otherwise no problems. I deleted the installer, restarted and downloaded again, same error. Once I found the direct download list, I was able to download the latest installer and install without error, which suggests there is a problem with the Google installer linked to from the GE download page.

Dude, you're not even really trying to be helpful, instead it seems like you're putting alot of effort into being a condescending prick. You'll probably be a lot more helpful by being done with this issue.

Daniel, Thank You for the download links.  I too had the same error, the download link installed no problem!
This is not a MS issue.

I had this error trying to do a reinstall of Chrome after it ate itself.  Google seems to be the common factor.
