Imagery will not load

Hi all,

The imagery on Google Earth pro will not fully load for me. As shown in the screenshot, a few small areas will load, but the vast majority of areas remain blurry, even after the loading wheel shows it's fully loaded. I have tried seemingly everything: I cleared my cache, I checked my internet connection, restarted my computer, I even uninstalled and reinstalled Earth pro- to no avail. The problem still remains. I am using Earth Pro 7.3.2.5776 on Mac OS 10.14.6.

Anyone have any advice- this problem is aggravating!

Thanks

This should be fixed now. Contrary to the previous advice if you still have problems you may need to clear the cache.

This is what Google says:

"The issue with blurry imagery has been fixed. You may need to clear the cache (look under "Fix blurry or outdated imagery") in Pro to resume normal functionality. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please let us know if you are still experiencing this issue."

You can also clear the cache using the repair tool in the Help menu in Google Earth Pro.

I've also been having this problem for the last hour or two, on multiple computers. Likewise, no amount of clearing the cache, etc. has solved it.

It finally works on a brand new install and two older installs. All separate pcs.

Thanks for all of the updates. It appears to improve bit by bit. I'm just glad that Google is supporting GE Pro desktop still. I was afraid for a moment that this was it and that we'd be forced to move to the web version (just like SketchUp...). I've tried the web version and it's a promising concept, but still a far cry from GE Pro desktop

Seems to be back to functional for me (Czech Republic), thanks for the updates and hard work!

Thank You GE. for your prompt action and support. Though i still don't understand why the GE pro is being phased out...coz the web version as Bobby E mentioned is nowhere at par with the app version and would limit its users, much of its functionality and application that the pro version gives.

Hi Chuba, Google Earth Pro isn't going away immediately, it's still being supported and maintained. Google are still working on the web version, and it is getting better all the time. The creation tools are very good I find.

If there's something you'd like to see in Google Earth for web, please send feedback via the option in the menu. The developers are interested to know what people would like to see. Historical imagery for example, or as somebody else mentioned, adding a heading to the measure tool.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the quick fix and the constant updated on the situation ! Well done !

I got a little worried about the last message, though ...
Noisette said : "... GE Pro isn't going away immediately ..."
By "immediately" you mean that eventually IT WILL go away someday ? Is this correct ?

I have to be honest and tell that I haven't explored the web version at all but like some comments before,
from the few things I saw, I don't think it will ever replace the app installed on a computer.
At least for now, it doesn't even seems very user friendly
(I couldn't find a track / path drawing tool in the few minutes I spent exploring the web version)
Is this function available ?

One good thing of a web based option would be to access your local places anywhere
but I get a little worried about loosing the GE Pro as we know it.

Any idea is there will be a fase out anytime soon ?

Thank you once again for a wonderful work and for keeping us posted.

Cheers

Hi José Carlos, we don't know what Google's timetable is, and Google Earth Pro is still being supported and maintained. However, Google are putting most of their efforts into the web and mobile versions, and eventually they will replace Google Earth Pro. But it's not happening yet. I would guess not this year, but that is only a guess, we just don't know.

You can draw a line or path in GE for web. The first video on this page, "Adding features", explains how, about 55 seconds in: https://support.google.com/earth/answer/9394930?hl=en&ref_topic=9395031.

Monday morning - 10:50 PST, my GE pro is still VERY SLOW.  I've cleared all 3 caches, and am attempting to clear them again but the app crashed....  Not sure things are actually fixed at this point.
