Transfer kml files from old computer windows 10 to new computer windows 11

If I go to start and scroll down to GoogleEarth pro and right click I see myplaces.kml
If I click on this I get the following:
%USERPROFILE%[&AppDataLocalLowGoogleGoogleEarth&]".

With this is I get a query "do you want to reload this file and lose any edits you have made"
yes          no        always(don't ask again)

I am not sure what this means by lose any  edits I have made.
Does it mean all work I have done in google earth in the old computer after transfering Google earth from an even older computer?

I am not touching this thing till I know what is going on.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

BYron

Hi Byron,

Instructions for finding and transferring your My Places file to a different computer are here: https://support.google.com/earth/answer/166438.  You can copy that file to the same location on the new computer.

Or, on the old computer, open Google Earth Pro, right click the top level My Places folder and save that as a kmz file, then transfer that to the new computer and just open it in Google Earth Pro.

When you right click the Google Earth Pro entry in the Windows Start menu you are looking at the recent files list. It seems you already have the file open, so when you click it to open it again you are asked if you want to overwrite the version you have open.
