Are you asking about hectares?
noun
plural noun: hectares
a metric unit of square measure, equal to 100 ares (2.471 acres or 10,000 square meters).
When you draw a polygon, you are asked if you would like to close the shape. That creates a polygon with an included area. The android version of Google Earth already includes hectares as a choice for any polygon.
