How to turn off Tilt

How to exit Street View with no tilt, preferably on the new coordinates. I can not understand why this is not default.

Hi,

I think the idea is to try to get a smooth transition out of Street View.  If it was another way, a subset of users would complain about it being that way.  There's no winning that game.

You can use the u shortcut key to return to 90°, or the r shortcut key to return to 90° and north up.  There are other shortcut keys that might help.

Also, you can use the backspace key to back up to each place you have stopped in that GE session.  If you haven't gone far in Street View, that will take you back to the satellite view where you entered Street View.

I hope that helps.

There are other controls for tilt at Tools>Options>Navigation.

Take a poll and see which way people prefer.  Or have it set up the same way (tilted vs nontilted) that the user was in before going into street view.  Or have a setting for default tilt when in plan view.  It's VERY annoying to have to change things when I exit street view.  If I wanted things tilted in plan view, I would have started there before going into street view.

the "r" shortcut key is saving me tons.  now if only i could make it so the zoom does not automatically go to street view...

Go to Tools>Options>Navigation and select 'Do not automatically tilt while zooming'.

That should improve things.
