Google Earth icon has disappeared from my PC

This article will help you if:

  • The Google Earth shortcut icon has disappeared from your desktop or control panel
  • Installation is successful but you cannot find Google Earth

Even though the Google Earth desktop icon is missing, the application itself still exists on your computer. To access Google Earth from your desktop please recreate a desktop shortcut by running the application below or by following the written instructions manually:

Google Earth Icon Restorer Application

This is a small application that will recreate a Google Earth icon for your desktop. It is not intended for any other use. Please delete the application directly after use.
  1. Select the application: Google Earth Icon Restorer
  2. The application name "geicons.exe" will appear in your download bar. Select Save.
  3. Run the application by selecting Open, or double clicking "geicons.exe"
  4. Look at your desktop and find the newly created shortcut icon for Google Earth
  5. Delete the application by selecting "geicons.exe" in your download bar > Open in Folder > Delete
Please note that the application will recreate the icon for the most advanced version of Google Earth currently installed on your computer (EC, Pro, free).
