Google Duo’s family mode provides a better call experience when young kids are in a Google Duo call. Family mode hides in-call controls to prevent kids from accidentally hanging up or muting the call.
To draw or apply effects with family mode, you need iOS 11 and up.
Turn on family mode
- Start or receive a Google Duo
video call.
- At the bottom, tap Menu
Family.
- To use effects to do things like replace your face with a picture of a flower, tap Effects.
- To draw pictures, tap Doodle.

Tip: To access in-call controls, like mute and hang up, in the upper-left corner, tap the Back arrow
