Manage campaigns

AdWords ad rotation settings have moved to ad groups. Previously you specified ad rotation settings at the campaign level. If a campaign previously specified the Optimize, Optimize for conversions, or Rotate option, all ad groups in the campaign now specify the Optimize option. If a campaign previously specified the Rotate indefinitely option, all ad groups in the campaign now specify Rotate indefinitely.

Inventory management has been updated so you can specify ad rotation settings in ad group templates for inventory plans that generate ad groups in AdWords accounts. In campaigns and ad groups that were generated and trafficked to AdWords before this change, AdWords migrated ad rotation settings as described above.

DoubleClick Search no longer displays or manages ad rotation settings for Yahoo Japan accounts (Yahoo Japan recently moved this setting from campaigns to ad groups). Ad groups that you create from DoubleClick Search will use the default Optimize ad rotation setting. You can sign into Yahoo Japan and choose a different ad rotation option.

For some types of search engines, DoubleClick Search (DS) supports reporting on Floodlight conversions and uploading cost metrics but doesn't support creating or managing campaigns. To report on these engines in DS, create an engine track account. Depending on the type of engine, DS can partially automate the process of setting up conversion tracking and uploading cost metrics.

DoubleClick Search is removing support for the "URL parameters" column. In March 2018, you won't be able to enter new parameters or change existing parameters. By May 2018, DoubleClick Search will stop appending URL parameters that are in this column. It's recommended that you move URL parameters from this column into the keyword's landing page URL.

To make it easier to manage bids and ad copy for different keyword match types, you may want to create campaigns that contain only exact match keywords, other campaigns that contain only phrase match keywords, and others that contain only broad match keywords. Depending on how you've organized your inventory plan, you may prefer to do this at the ad group level instead of at the campaign level.

If you're engaging audiences through social, search, and display ads, add your social accounts to DoubleClick Search and use DoubleClick Search as the single solution for tracking and reporting across social, search, and display channels. DoubleClick Search can also work with social engines to build remarketing lists so you can re-engage your customers on search, social, or display channels.

If you use a third-party attribution model or if you've developed your own system for distributing conversion credit to clicks, you can upload the third-party attribution data from the DoubleClick Search Conversions API and use the data in reports and DoubleClick Search bid strategies.

With recent changes across the web that affect conversion measurement, it’s important to make sure that your conversion tag implementation supports accurate counting on your site. To ensure that DoubleClick Search (DS) can measure all of your conversions regardless of the browser that your site visitor is using, we recommend that you use the global site tag or Google Tag Manager with Conversion Linker
