Manage app extensions in a campaign or ad group

By default, campaigns and ad groups inherit all account-level ad extensions. You can set up a campaign or ad group to do any of the following:

  • Display only specific ad extensions.

  • Display ad extensions that aren't set up as account-level extensions.

  • Don't display any ad extensions.

To manage app extensions for a campaign or ad group:

  1. Navigate to the campaign or ad group.

Steps for navigating to a campaign
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account that contains the campaign.
    6. In the "Campaign" list, click on the campaign.

    7. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

  2. Click the Extensions▼ tab and select App extensions.
If the campaign or ad group is inheriting app extensions, the View app extensions for engine account link or the View app extensions for campaign link appears above the reporting table. Click the link to view the account or campaign’s app extensions.

Otherwise, app extensions that have already been applied directly to the campaign or ad group appear in the reporting table.

  3. Click the Manage app extensions button, which appears above the reporting table. Then do any of the following:

    • To select specific app extensions that can appear in the campaign or ad group’s ads:

      1. Click Select app extensions in the popup that appears.
The app-extensions list displays all app extensions that have been created in the engine account (even app extensions that have passed their end date or haven’t yet reached their start date).

      2. Select the check boxes next to the app extensions you want to appear.

      3. Clear the check boxes from the app extensions you don't want to appear.

    • To prevent a campaign or ad group from displaying app extensions, click Disable app extensions for the campaign or Disable app extensions for the campaignad group.

    • To return to inheriting the app extensions that have been specified at a higher level, click Inherit from engine account or Inherit from campaign.

Note that if you're at the campaign level and you select Inherit from engine account, the campaign will only inherit app extensions that have been created as account-level extensions.

  4. Click Apply.
