Create "Mobile app installs" campaigns
Use DS to create, manage, and report on “Mobile app installs” campaigns, a special type of AdWords campaign that focuses on getting people to download your app. Ads from these campaigns appear only on phones or tablets, and they land directly on your app in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Create and edit AdWords conversion trackers in DS
Conversion trackers enable you to evaluate your return on investment (ROI) for different types of conversion actions such as purchases and calls to a number listed in your ads. You can use DS to create and edit AdWords conversion trackers in the DS UI. Prior to this release, you could only create conversion trackers in AdWords. Learn more.
Invalid clicks column
When viewing Campaigns tab in an AdWords engine account, you can add the Invalid clicks column, which displays the number of clicks on ads that Google considers to be illegitimate, such as unintentional clicks or clicks resulting from malicious software, as reported by AdWords.
Updated features
DS URL templates are now hierarchical
Use DS URL templates to apply a redirect URL or a set of URL parameters to landing page URLs for keywords and sitelinks. You can now create DS URL templates at multiple levels within an engine account (previously you could only create one template for each account, and that template would apply to all keywords and sitelinks in the account). For example, you can create separate URL templates for each, campaign or ad group in an account. You can even create separate templates for each sitelink or keyword if you need to support redirect URLs with static parameters that are unique to each item.
- Edit the account-level template
- Edit or create a new sitelink
If you don't want the account-level template applied to sitelink, set each sitelink's URL template to {unescapedlpurl}
.
Campaign copies no longer update geo targets
If you need to manage the same campaigns on multiple engine accounts, instead of manually creating the campaigns on each account you can create them once in an AdWords account and copy them to the other accounts. When you make changes to one of the AdWords campaigns, you can copy some of the changes into the other accounts.
Previously, you could copy changes to geo targets from a source campaign to any existing campaign copies. However now, DS no longer copies updates to geo targets. DS only copies geo targets when the copy operation creates a new campaign in the target engine.
Report AdWords conversions and visits by click type in DS
When a customer clicks on an individual ad component, such as a headline, phone call, or sitelink, the component or type of click is recorded. You can then report on the performance of the components by segmenting your DS reports by click type. Previously, the reports included clicks, impressions, cost, click through rate (CTR), average CPC, and average position stats. The reports have been expanded to also include conversions and visits stats from AdWords. Learn more.
