Create and report on Google Ads call extensions

Apply and remove Google Ads call extensions

Apply call extensions

You can apply up to 20 call extensions to each campaign or ad group.

When you create a call extension you can also apply it to campaigns and ad groups. Follow the steps below to apply one or more existing call extensions to a campaign or ad group:

  1. Navigate to the campaign or ad group where you want to apply call extensions.
    Steps for navigating to a campaign
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
      What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account that contains the campaign.
    6. In the "Campaign" list, click on the campaign.

    7. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    Search Ads 360 displays the campaign page.

    Steps for navigating to an ad group
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
      What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click the engine account that contains the campaign.

    6. In the "Campaign" list, click the campaign that contains the ad group.

    7. In the "Ad group" list, click the ad group.

    8. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    Search Ads 360 displays the ad group page.

  2. Click the Extensions▼ tab and select Call Extensions.
    Any call extensions that have already been applied to the campaign or ad group appear in the reporting table.

    If you navigated to an ad group that inherits its call extensions from the campaign, the View call extensions for campaign link appears above the reporting table. Click the link to view the inherited call extensions.

  3. Click the Manage call extensions button, which appears above the reporting table.
  4. If you navigated to an ad group that inherits call extensions, click Select call extensions to see the call-extensions list.

  5. The call-extensions list displays all call extensions that have been created in the engine account (even call extensions that have passed their end date or haven’t yet reached their start date).

    Select the check boxes next to the call extensions you want to apply and click Apply.

The reporting table displays all call extensions that can appear in the campaign or ad group.

Remove call extensions

  1. Navigate to the campaign or ad group where you want to remove call extensions.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account that contains the campaign.
    6. In the "Campaign" list, click on the campaign.

    7. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click the engine account that contains the campaign.

    6. In the "Campaign" list, click the campaign that contains the ad group.

    7. In the "Ad group" list, click the ad group.

    8. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    Search Ads 360 displays the ad group page.

  2. Click the Extensions▼ tab and select Call Extensions.
    Any call extensions that have already been applied to the campaign or ad group appear in the reporting table.

    If you navigate to an ad group that inherits its call extensions from the campaign, the View call extensions for campaign link appears above the reporting table. Click the link to view the inherited call extensions.

  3. To prevent an ad group from displaying call extensions:
    1. Click the Manage call extensions button above and left of the reporting table.
    2. Click Disable call extensions for the ad group.
    3. Click Apply.
  4. To remove call extensions that have been specified for a campaign:
    1. Click the Manage call extensions button above and left of the reporting table.
    2. Click the None link, which appears above the call-extension list.
    3. Click Apply.

The reporting table displays all call extensions that can appear in the campaign or ad group’s ads.
