Report by device type

You can now see how your campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, or product targets are performing by device type. This is a great way to compare how an object is performing on desktop computers, mobile devices, and tablets. Device reports:

  • Report on data back to January 1, 2013.

  • Include data for Floodlight activities and formula columns.

  • Have a new Device segment column, which can have values of Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet. If there are cases where data was unavailable or insufficient to infer the device, the Other value may also appear in reports.

You can use the Dimensions or Segmentation option to see detailed reporting on device types. Using a dimension is good if you just want to see device data for one account, campaign or ad group, while segmentation can provide device reporting on multiple accounts, campaigns or ad groups at once.

In some cases, you may notice small data discrepancies in the counts of device classification reporting between Search Ads 360 and the search engine. This happens because of differences in the way Search Ads 360 classifies some events and the way engines do. For more details, see this Help Center article.
Use dimensions to report by device type
  1. In the Search Ads 360 UI, navigate to the campaign, ad group, ad, or keyword whose data you want to compare by device.

  2. To see data for a specific period, update the date range in the top right corner of the page.

  3. Above the performance summary graph, click the Dimensions tab.

  4. From the dropdown, select Device segment.
The table will show a separate row for each device type.

Use segments to report by device type
  1. In the Search Ads 360 UI, navigate to the list of campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, or product targets whose data you want to compare by device.

  4. From the dropdown, select Device segment and click Apply.
The table will show a separate row for each device type in each object.
