Budget spend remaining column

Displays the amount of monthly budget that has not yet been spent in a monthly-spend bid strategy.

The value is calculated as:

  • Budget spend remaining = Monthly budget - spend from the beginning of the month to the earliest date in the report's date range
As the date is based on the earlier date in the selected date range, we recommend you select a one-day date range (e.g., June 1 - June 1) in a month. Specifying one day enables you to see the amount that is available after the date.

Examples

Specify one day date range:

  1. You set a target spend of $3000 for June, a month with 30 days.
  2. In the UI, you set the date range to June 10 - June 10.
  3. Between June 1 and June 10 (the earliest date in the date range), DS spent $1000 on the bid strategy (an average of $100 per day).
  4. DS subtracts $1000 (the spend from the beginning of the month to the earliest date in the report's date range) from $3000 (the monthly budget). Budget spend remaining is $2000 (calculated as $3000 - $1000).

Specify a multiple day date range:

  1. In a monthly spend bid strategy, you set a target spend of $5000 for the month of September, also a month with 30 days.
  2. You want to know how much of the $5000 remains after September 15. (The bid strategy will average approximately $167 per day.)
  3. In the UI, you set September 1 to September 15 as the date range.
  4. On September 1, $200 of the budget was spent.

By September 10, $1667 of the budget was spent.

By September 15, $3000 of the budget was spent.

  5. Because the column calculates the remaining budget from the beginning of the month to the earliest date in the date range, the Budget spend remaining column will show $4800 (calculated as $5000 - $200).

If you change the date range to September 10 to September 15, the Budget spend remaining column will show $3333 (calculates as $5000 - $1667).

If you change the date range to September 15, the Budget spend remaining column will show $2000 (calculated as $5000 - $3000).
