Stop specific files from uploading with Drive File Sync without stopping from everything uploading 0 Recommended Answers 6 Replies 79 Upvotes

I'm using the Google File Stream to sync files to my Google Drive, NOT Google Backup & Sync. I started uploading a couple large 2Gb files that will not finish uploading so they are taking up space on my HDD. I went into the Google Drive storage location on my computer and deleted the folder containing those files but now when I go to the upload status of Drive Files Stream it shows "moving folder X to Trash" below the uploads...... So it's trying to finish uploading the files before it will delete them.

I've also tried deleting the file in my Google Drive using the browser, and I tried looking in the Drive File Stream cache location but all of those files are named weird so I have no idea which files are the ones I want to delete.

If I delete the entire Drive Files Stream cache will it remove all of the other files that I do want to upload? or will it only remove the files I've deleted from my Drive already? Is there a way to identify where those specific files are in the cache so I can remove just those? Any other recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similar issue and look forward to a solution!  I made the mistake of preparing a long video in editing software, then exporting the result to a Drive folder. I really should have saved the video to my desktop before uploading, and realized the mistake as the editor was taking a while to export while Drive Sync was attempting to upload the result while it was being made... So, I stopped the export and moved the files to my desktop, but Drive Sync is still attempting to upload the file that was never fully exported! The process started almost 24 hours ago... Quitting the app didn't work, and I'm afraid of disconnecting my account because of many changes I've made over the past day.  Is there any way to stop the process of one file in the sync queue without affecting the rest?
