Hi Anonymous Anonymous 9586!

If you need to check this inside the cloud itself, that is currently not possible. If the same folders and files are also on your computer, you can check there.

The best way to influence the future features being added to Google's Drive products is to give your opinions/needs/requirements to the Developers through the official Send Feedback option that's part of the Backup & Sync application. You can also use the Settings / Help / Send Feedback option on your Drive's webpage interface.

Otherwise it's unlikely that Developers would know exactly how many people are requesting features/making reports of issues and such (They spend their time mostly working on features and issues, not reading forums). Using the Send Feedback will allow for behind-the-scenes categorization and prioritization of such feedback, along with easy summary total tracking of each similar request.

Here are the exact steps when going through Backup & Sync:

1) Click on your Backup & Sync icon (Cloud) on your taskbar/notification area.
2) Click on the 3 dots at the very right side to access the Settings.
3) Click on Send Feedback

Here are the exact steps when going through your Drive's webpage interface:

1) Click this to open your Drive's webpage interface: My Drive Cloud's Webpage
2) Click on the ? for Help on that webpage's top right side
3) Choose Send Feedback, typically at the bottom of the Help popup

It will not be possible to receive a reply to your feedback, but be assured that all feedback is reviewed and actioned as deemed appropriate.

How is the highest ranking answer not correct and does not answer the question except to describe how to provide feedback to request a feature to developers that apparently they don't know users want - yeh right. Funny how users who don't have storage limits don't understand the requirement for this feature. Funny how you can only provide "feedback" to google, you have zero chance of sending them an email.

It is totally asinine that folder size is not available.  I get not displaying it on every screen because you may not want to calculate it unless the user is looking for it but for Pete's sake, if I select Details/Info on a folder, about the only effing thing I'm going to want to know is the size of the folder.  As things stand right now, instead I'm pegging one of your CPUs for an hour and wasting a ton of both of our bandwidth simply to zip/download a huge folder to see how big it is.  You charge us for space, you calculate how much we use, make that available to us.

I agree. This is such an obvious feature. It should be available.

One of many reasons I find Google to be the worst service company and worst cloud service. I only use it because the other ones don't have appropriate pricing. I guess though we get what we pay for, so basic features that should have been Day One are still missing years later after countless complaints. Wow.

This has made my life SO difficult for what I'm dealing with right now, so thanks, Google!

@Burak 2020

No, there is no size info for a folder on clicking the icon you mentioned - neither in Details nor in Activity tab.

As someone said above:

"Use Total Commander with cloud plugin, connect to Google drive and hit space on the folder. ;-)"

Wow, this is absolutely shocking omission of such basic functionality...
Also, I am still seeing UNWANTED integration between Drive and Photos. Using the link below, I looked for "Large photos and videos" in my drive.  https://one.google.com/storage/management
Since 2019 - deleting photos from DRIVE should no longer delete them from PHOTOS.  Sadly, this is a lie.  The storage management above deleted videos from G-Photos (which I thought were safely backed up in Google Photos). Both products are JUST AWFUL, I don't know why I put up with such garbage software.  And no way to get any support.  Uugh!

Amazing, this is file management 101 and not implemented yet ( 2021)???
Anyway, as suggested by others some Android file managers do the job.
I use Solid Explorer Pro on Android, you can see the folder size in properties of the folder.
Not perfect, but better than nothing at all.
Just found out that Air Explorer for Windows does the same on PC.
Fine tool btw to sync folders across cloud storage and devices.

A person wanting to know the folder size is common sense.  Not everyone uses backup and sync so they don't have access to the three little dots to contact the developers directly.  Can you please make the folder size of any google drive folder immediately viewable when the folder is highlighted?  I'm sure everyone would really appreciate this.  I guarantee you would get more paying customers for your backup and sync service.  Thank you.

Agreed - Just list the darn File and Folder size...geez, what's so hard about that?
