"The number of allowed playbacks has been exceeded."

I have some videos stored in my drive that I've been able to watch without issue for the last few weeks. Suddenly, I can no longer watch any of them in the video player.

Now, every time I try to watch one of the videos, I get this error:
"Unable to play this video at this time. The number of allowed playbacks has been exceeded. Please try again later."

I've tried watching them on my android to see if the problem was browser exclusive, but in the drive app, the following error pops up:
"The video cannot be played."

I've been waiting many hours to see if this error will go away with time, to no avail.

Hi Brian Rexroth!

How big is the video in question and have you shared it to anyone?

Since YouTube is the intended product to be used for frequent playbacks of videos, there are limits per user on how much can be playback from your on Google Drive cloud storage area. Each playback is added to the daily count/size and each playback stays tracked for 24hrs.

So extreme example- assume you have a 15GB 4K video that you playback many times in 24hrs. That would very likely trip the maximum playback block and each of those playbacks would finally drop off the tracking 24hrs after they were played.

Looking forward to seeing your replies!
