Google drive backup and sync

I have previous used the sync service by google drive desktop, and it successfully synced the selected files onto my google drive. Since then I stopped using the computer for a while since I was on a trip.

Recently when I use my desktop again, I found my google drive desktop upgraded to a new version, which is nothing bad until I found that my sync setting is disappeared! I then try to re-select the files I want to have a backup and wish everything goes alright. The sync is successful yet I found a prominent issue, that all the files are synced in another file in the google drive! i.e. I have two copies of the backup files on my google drive now.

It wasn't anything bad but I found it frustrating since I have uploaded various files to the drive during my trip with my laptop, and I wish them to be synced back into my desktop. However, I found it unable to link the files on my desktop to the files on my google drive that was created previously. Please help!!
