"contains an invalid path" error message when trying to open file in a program


I had back up and sync for my Gsuite account. After I was switched to Google Drive, I can no longer open files in a program that used to have no issue opening previously. I want files saved in my cloud and synced to be able to open on my laptop when needed. It just says C:Users\F\GoogleDrive\? [then the right folder and file name] followed by "contains an invalid path."

Adding another note, to hopefully get some attention. I used to be able to open files from folders that were in back up and sync. Yet I cannot open files from the new google drive through a few program. They are not recognizing the drive or some issue of that nature. Has anyone else had this issue? Am i doing something wrong is is this a Google Drive bug?
