Sometime between yesterday and today, I and all my shared users started getting the "Your Access Has Expired - Reload this document to gain access. If you still don't have access, contact the document owner" error with all shared Google Docs and Sheets on all browsers on both PCs and Mac. I am the owner of all the Docs and Sheets in question. The people shared on these docs are a mix of 'editors' and 'viewers'. It appears from the support threads on this that this has been a known issue since 2019. This is really a big problem. Here are more specifics on what I've done up to this point that help address some of the other common questions that have come up in previous threads:

  1. I have tried logging in from an iMac using Safari, an older ThinkPad PC via Chrome and Explorer and my wife's brand new, out of the box laptop PC using Chrome. The same error comes up on all shared docs on all three.
  2. I am not part of a company. I have no firewall. Just using a regular Comcast router with a password setup from my home.
  3. People shared on my documents are a mix of business people and individuals, accessing the sheets from home and office environments.
  4. I've tried a different access point, a hotspot via my phone, and still get the same error with both my Mac and PCs.
  5. One shared document is edited daily, while others giving the error have not been accessed in months, so I doubt corrupt data with one of the files is causing the problem, since the older, non-edited shared files now provide the same error.
  6. The issue started between 3pm PST 4/13/21 and 9am PST 4/14/21.
  7. I've tried copying and pasting the data into new files, but when I share them, I get the same error shortly thereafter. Plus, you cannot copy conditional formatting, columns widths, etc between sheets in Google Sheets, so this is not a great option anyways.
  8. Downloading and uploading the files is not practical, as I lose a myriad of pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc.
  9. If I click the 'Reload' button, the same error message just returns.
  10. If I click the 'x' to close out the error message in the upper right, I can actually edit the documents for about 90 seconds, until the error message returns again. If I click the 'x' again, I have another 90 seconds or so of edit time. I timed it twice. The first time, I had exactly 90 seconds of edit time. The second time, I had 96 seconds of edit time.
  11. I have closed out and reopened the file to see if my edits during #10 above are saving, and they are. But this is not a functional way to continue. This error should be fixed.
  12. I doubt clearing caches is the fix, since I tried this on my wife's brand new, out of the box PC and got the same error message.
  13. I've tried accessing the files via Incognito mode on my iMac and get the same error message.
  14. I have accessed these shared Docs and Sheets on my new iPhone 12 Max Pro without any issues. I get no error messages.
  15. One of my accounts is just a gmail account. Another is a G-suite account. Same error shows up when I access these files from both.
  16. The files are shared with both gmail account users and non-gmail account users.
  17. Some of these files are quite large (4300 records in a Sheet) and quite small (one page Doc, 70 record Sheet). Same error.

I could really use the help, and by the hundreds of other comments on threads like https://support.google.com/docs/thread/3851942?hl=en and those that you will see when you search for "Your Access Has Expired" threads, this really needs to be fixed. I've invested seven hours troubleshooting this today with no luck. One of the sheets is used to create deliver food boxes to the houseless and needy in my area. Please....HELP!!!!

Same issue here. Same timeframe. So there's something that's changed with Google that is causing this. We even re-created certain documents to circumvent the issue and then it started happening on the new documents.

Same issue here, same timeframe; getting the same issue despite being the owner on all of these docs.
