Re: Pdf quality in drive preview
It could be that when you view the PDF in your own My Drive you see it first in the newish Previewer. If so, click open (or ctrl-click in the first place to avoid the previewer).
External people who get the link (like us here) go straight to the document. You can try it by logging out of GDrive and clicking on the links you provided here. You might best do it from another browser or computer from which you have never logged into your Google account (because there have been some suggestions here that cookies are being picked up even if you are logged out).
By image quality I mean that for me atleast I get a lower number of colors, fades look strange, pictures have less colors and therefore don't look like they should.
For me I get the same result when I am in the previewer aswell as when I have opened it (not downloaded), same from my macbook at work aswell as from my home pc, as when Iam logged in or out.
I have uploaded two pictures how it looks for me. Am I doing something wrong with opening the Gdrive pdfs, for in my opinion it's quite different in the two pictures.
My question is, how does it look in a PDF generated on the local desktop?
Just for info, what PDF apps do you use locally? I have Adobe Reader and Nitro Reader 3, an excellent (also free of charge) viewer, creator and annotator.
I make powerpoints that i share as pdf files. So I use the save as pdf function in office 365.
I dont think it's the creation of the pdfs that is the problem, because I have been working like this along time, but then I have uploaded my pdf files to a ftp and shared via my webpage, n quality loss there.
In general I can just observe that viewers/previewers do not necessarily give a 100% accurate reproduction of the content of a file as they are only viewers, but I would expect that when you go to a PDF file and 'open with' the "Google Drive viewer" I would expect it to look like the original PDF file, since it is PDF.
There is a lot of talk, everyone discussed the same problem, which in fact I have, too, - but no solution seems forthcoming.
