Re: Tags/Labels in Google Drive

Hey there!

Thanks for joining the forum. Have you tried using Description field in preview mode? To preview a file or document, check the box next to its title in Google Drive. Then, click the preview icon Preview icon above your list of items. For more information, visit http://support.google.com/drive/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2375115

When you're in preview mode, there's a section called Description that you can edit. When you search in Google Drive's search bar, it also searches this description - so this could be a helpful way to tag your items.

Hope that helps!

I am very much interested by the answer of your question for another reason : wea re agroup of people using Drive in a collaborative way. We have a common folder base but, as forseenable, we do not classify docs the same way ! So docs are often lost. Creating tags will be the most valiable approach. How could we manage this with DRve, that is the question.

Give up on this. Every document manager on earth includes tags EXCEPT Google Drive, from the company that did more than any other to popularize the "tag" concept since the birth of Gmail.

+1 for tags in Google Drive. I think Evernote does the service, but I'd like to have all my stuffs in one place: Google Account. Please, guys!

Looks like Google Drive Community Manager "Teresa" hijacked the original poster's post, putting her solution in its place.  What was the original post??

Also, check out the number of views and replies.  I think this goes to show that Google Drive really needs tags/labels (whatever you want to call them).
