You may see a message that Google Drive for Mac/PC no longer syncs the files on your computer.
To sync the files on your computer, uninstall Google Drive, then install Drive for desktop.
Delete Google Drive for Mac/PC
Important: Before you uninstall Google Drive, close or quit the application.
macOS
- Open Finder.
- At the top, click Go
Applications.
- Right-click Google Drive
click Move to trash.
- To continue syncing your files to your computer, install Drive for desktop.
Optional: You can also delete the "Google Drive" folder in your home directory.
Windows
- Open the Start menu.
- Click Control Panel
Programs.
- Click Programs and Features
Google Drive.
- Click Uninstall.
- To continue syncing your files to your computer, install Drive for desktop.
