Change your language setting for Docs, Sheets, and Slides
If Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides is appearing in a language you don't understand or don't want to use, you can change the language by following these steps:
- In your Drive, click the gear icon in the top right and select Settings.
- On the Settings page, click the drop-down menu beside Language.
- Select the language you want to use.
- Click Save.
- To go back to your document, click the link called Back to Google Drive.
Here are the languages that you can choose from in Google Docs:
Afrikaans, Amharic, Arabic, Basque, Bengali, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Hong Kong), Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (U.S.), English (U.K.), Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French (Canada), French (France), Galician, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Khmer, Korean, Lao, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malayalam, Malaysian, Marathi, Nepali, Norwegian, Oriya, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Sinhalese, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain), Swahili, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukranian, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Zulu.
