Get started with Google Drive

You automatically get 15 GB of storage for free and you can buy more storage. Your 15 GB includes what is stored in:

  • Google Drive
  • Google Photos
  • Gmail

Step 1: Go to drive.google.com

To use Google Drive, on your computer, go to drive.google.com.

What will I see in My Drive?

My Drive is the folder where all your files and folders are. To use your files from different devices, sign in to your Google Account. In "My Drive," you’ll see:

  • Files and folders you upload or sync.
  • Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms you create.

Step 2: Upload or create files

You can upload files from your computer or create files in Google Drive.

Step 3: Share and organize files

You can share files or folders, so other people can view, comment, or edit them.

To see files that other people have shared with you, go to the "Shared with me" section of My Drive. Learn more about shared files.
