Get started with Google Drive

Step 1: Go to drive.google.com

On your computer, go to drive.google.com

My Drive has: 

  • Files and folders that you upload or sync
  • Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms that you create

Tip: You can choose between Home and My Drive as your Google Drive start page. To change your start page, go to Settings  and then Settings. Under 'Start page', select your preference.

  • Recommended files and folders that are recently opened, shared or edited. 
  • Filter chips that make it easy to find suggested files by type, people, modified date or the location in Drive.

Step 2: Upload or create files

You can upload files from your computer or create files in Google Drive.

Step 3: Share and organise files

You can share files or folders, so other people can access, edit or comment on them.

To find files that other people have shared with you, go to the 'Shared with me' section.

Sign out of Google Drive

  1. Go to drive.google.com
  2. At the top right, click your profile picture.
    • If a photo doesn't appear, you may find the account image  .
  3. Click Sign out.
