Add Drive widget to an iOS Lock Screen

When you add the Google Drive widget to your Lock Screen, you’re able to open Drive on your iPhone or iPad without the need to unlock it first.

Important:
• This feature is only available for iPhone on iOS 16 or higher. 
• Widgets can be only created for Google apps that are already installed on your iOS device.

Add & configure a Lock Screen widget

Important: For the Lock Screen widget to display in the gallery, the Drive app must be installed.

  1. To pull up Customization mode, press and hold the Lock Screen.
  2. Select Customize
  3. Tap the Lock Screen and then Add Widgets
  4. Scroll to the Drive widget.
  5. Tap the Drive widget. 
  6. Drag the widget to the shortcut bar under the clock. 
  7. Once the Drive widget is in the bar, tap it to pull up configurations.
  8. Select your preferred configuration and then Done and then Set as Wallpaper Pair.
  9. To end customization, tap the Lock Screen until you’re out of Customization mode.

Customize a Drive Lock Screen widget

  1. Unlock the Lock Screen with FaceID. 
  2. To pull up Customization mode, press and hold the Lock Screen. 
  3. Select Customize
  4. Tap existing Drive widget in the widget bar to pull up the Lock Screen widget gallery.
  5. To pull up configurations, tap the widget again.
  6. Select your preferred configuration.
  7. To close the widget gallery, select and then Done.
  8. To end customization, tap the Lock Screen until you’re out of Customization mode.
