Google has closed an agreement for Squarespace, Inc. to acquire all domain name registrations from Google Domains. Squarespace is the registrar of record for your domain and the Squarespace’s Terms of Service apply; however Google will manage your domain during a transition period. Following a transition period your domain will be transitioned to Squarespace, and upon transfer, your data will be governed by Squarespace’s Privacy PolicyLearn more about the agreement.

Manage or delete Google Workspace users in Google Domains

You can use Google Domains to perform some Google Workspace user management tasks, including:

Reset a user's password

If a user loses access to their account, you may need to reset their password. Follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to Google Domains.
  2. Select the name of your domain.
  3. Open the menu Menu.
  4. Click Email.
  5. Under "Add or remove people from Google Workspace," find the user whose password you want to reset, and click Edit Edit.
  6. Below the username, click Reset password.
  7. Enter the email address where you’d like to send a new temporary password. Use an address that’s not the user’s Google Workspace email address, as they don't have access to that address.
  8. Click Send reset email.

Change a user’s name

When a user changes their first or last name, you can update their Google Workspace account information accordingly. Follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to Google Domains.
  2. Select the name of your domain.
  3. Open the menu Menu.
  4. Click Email.
  5. Under "Add or remove people from Google Workspace," find the user. To update the name, click Edit Edit
  6. Click Save.

Important: To change a user’s email address, sign in to your Admin Console. Follow the instructions to change a user’s name and email address.

Delete a user

In some cases, you may need to delete a Google Workspace user, for example, if someone leaves your company. Follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to Google Domains.
  2. Select the name of your domain.
  3. Open the menu Menu
  4. Click Email.
  5. Under "Add or remove people from Google Workspace," find the user you'd like to delete and click Delete Delete .
  6. Click Delete to confirm deletion.

You have 20 days to restore a deleted user account.

Important: When you delete a user account, all of that user’s email and account data is also deleted. We recommend taking these steps to prepare for deleting an account. If you’re not sure if you need to delete a user, you also have the option to suspend a user from the Admin Console.
