Google has closed an agreement for Squarespace, Inc. to acquire all domain name registrations from Google Domains. Squarespace is the registrar of record for your domain and the Squarespace terms of service apply; however, Google will manage your domain during a transition period. Following a transition period, your domain will be transitioned to Squarespace and, upon transfer, your data will be governed by Squarespace's privacy policyLearn more about the agreement.

Host a Blogger blog on your domain

Host a blog on your domain as the homepage or link it to a specific subdomain. To learn how to use a subdomain, go to set up a customised domain.

Tip: To host an existing blog on your domain, you must be the owner of the blog or an administrator with permission to manage its settings. Learn how to control access to your blog.

Create a blog on your domain

To create a blog on Blogger:

  1. On your computer, open Google Domains.
  2. Sign in with the Google Account that you used to buy your domain.
  3. Click the domain name that you want to manage.
  4. Open the menu Menu.
  5. Click Website and then Build website.
  6. Under 'Blog powered by Blogger', click Continue and then Start with Blogger.
  7. Follow the directions on Blogger.

Tip: Updates may take up to 48 hours to take effect. 

Connect an existing blog to your domain

To connect a blog that already exists to your domain in Blogger, learn how to set up a customised domain.

To connect your blog to your domain in Google Domains: 

  1. On your computer, open Google Domains.
  2. Sign in with the Google Account that you used to buy your domain.
  3. Click the domain name that you want to manage.
  4. Open the menu Menu.
  5. Click Website and then Build website.
  6. Under 'Blog powered by Blogger', click Continue and then Sign in to existing account.
  7. Sign in with the same account for both Blogger and Domains.
    1. Make sure that you're the blog owner or a blog administrator with permission to access the blog. Learn how to control access to your blog.
  8. Enter the subdomain that you want to use. This is the text to the left of the domain name. For example, in 'www.example.com', the subdomain is 'www'.
  9. Under Blog, use the down arrow to select the blog that you'd like to connect.
  10. Optional: To redirect users from 'mydomain.com' to 'www.mydomain.com', select Also redirect [example.com] to [blog name].
  11. Click Connect blog.
