Where's the setting to open files inside the Chrome Browser, instead Docs app in Chromebook?
I'm in Google Chrome Browser, viewing drive.google.com . I want to open a file in the Browser, NOT the Google Docs app. How do I do that? Where is that Google Chrome Browser setting to right-click or double click on the file here in the browser, and to keep the file in the browser while editing?? This worked fine on my mac, but Chromebook won't do it. How do I fix it to do that? I can Preview, but I want to EDIT in Google Docs IN the Chrome Web Browser.
Some additional information (in case you are referring to Google Play/Android, which wasn't clear in your initial question):
If you are clicking on an extension or icon on your Chromebook and are taken to the Android app, not a web page, you can remove Docs from Android on your Chromebook to avoid this.
Delete apps that you installed in Android:
Click on the 3 vertical dots at the top right of any web page.
Go to Settings.
Then click on "Chrome OS Settings" at the top of the page.
Scroll down to Apps > Google Play Store.
Click on the arrow to the right to open the Google Play Store app.
Locate the Google Docs app and click on "Uninstall."
Tip: If you delete or disable an app, you can add it back to your Chromebook. If you bought an app, you can reinstall it without buying it again. Learn how to reinstall and re-enable apps.
Alternatively, you can follow these steps:
1. Right click on the Docs icon (pinned to the bottom toolbar or shelf)
2. Click "App Info"
3. Click "More Settings and Permissions"
4. Click "Advanced"
5. Scroll down and click "Open by default"
6. Click "Open Supported Links"
7. Click "Don't Open in this App"
