How do you add a link in sheets on mobile?

I have text in a cell. With the web version I can easily add a link for it. Ok cannot see how to do that on mobile.

Hi Chad,

See if the info you need is in this HELP article:

No, that page only refers to Docs and Slides. My issue is with Sheets.

I see now.  In the article, if you click the Android tab, there are instructions for Sheets. But you're right, on iOS they don't mention Sheets.

Thinking now about workarounds, if you placed the URL in another cell, you leave a Hyperlink formula in your target cell, something that looks to the URL holder cell to complete itself. Something like:

=IF( D2 = "", , Hyperlink( D2, "Click Me") )

Needs testing!

If you'd like help entered directly on a Google Sheet, from me or dozens of other forum contributors, please share an editable copy we can all work on. Please take a look at:  Google Product Experts' TIPS FOR POSTING
(Have sensitive info in your sheet? Read the tips!)

You can use the =HYPERLINK(...) formula. Start typing out that formula in the cell, and you will see the formula auto populate on the left bottom corner, click on the hyperlink formula, then type the link and label text in the correct format. For example:

=HYPERLINK(“www.google.com”, “Google”)

Don’t forget to use double quotes, not single quotes.

However, there doesn’t seem to be a “clickable” UI button to tap that simulates the same functionality in Docs/Slides. Bad Google.

Why is there not a way to do this? Seems like a very basic task. Super frustrating.
