Export the Sheet to .csv - it's data only and universally compatible.

exporting to .cvs did not work, file- download- and open file excel did not work, the formulas do not carry over? trying to use google finance price change updates for daily stock prices and formulas for average daily change. These do not convert over to excel? Is there an add on to download in excel or someway to switch over to excel?
In case anyone wants to know why I need excel is because all other templates are on excel and my office likes using excel....thats only reason

@Anthony hollis,

The GOOGLEFINANCE() function is specific to Google Sheets and will not be correctly converted to an Excel function. I do believe there are tools within Excel to do this but I don't know how to use them.

As I mentioned in the other post (which I was typing while you were posting here it looks like), we are good at helping people convert from Excel to Sheets but generally have a hard time helping people convert from Sheets to Excel. Many of us don't have access to Excel at all and very few of us use it daily. You will probably get the best results if you try asking for help in an Excel forum since their experts will have much more familiarity with Excel and the methods needed to accomplish what you need in Excel than we do.

Since I do business with people who have Excel, it's frustrating to work in Sheets (preferred) and then not have a compatible download experience. The formulas, conditional formatting, and spacing doesn't convert correctly.

Hey! Same problem here. Very annoying. We need to share our google spreadsheet with people whose workplaces are not allowed to access google.

So I need to export as excel.

Can't you make an "export values only to excel" function? They actually don't need the formulas.

We have several worksheets so copying them one by one and pasting values only is horrible.

Thanks in advance

so I can select which columns to sort 1st, 2nd, etc and format a column for phone numbers.  can't do this in sheets.
