How do I print #10 envelope in Google Docs?
Is this right? Does Google Docs not have the capability to print a #10 envelope — a common, simple task? (I do not want to use an Avery label on an envelope, which looks like an amateur is at work.)

Hi, Michael,
Unfortunately, those options are the only ones currently available for Docs at this time. I agree that Docs needs to add envelopes to the paper sizes.
Please be aware that the help communities are managed by volunteer product users (even the product experts are volunteers), not Google employees. We can offer assistance with troubleshooting and how-to questions, but we have no control over product improvements or general issues/complaints.
You can submit your concerns by opening a Docs document and going to Help > Report a problem. The team reviews all feedback sent to them but is unable to respond to individual users. Google doesn't check the help forums for user feedback, so it's important that you use the in-product tool. The more users who request this capability via in-product feedback, the greater the chances are of the team considering adding it.

You're very welcome, Michael. I know the team reads all feedback, so the more users who ask for envelope sizes (in the available paper sizes), the better the chances are that we'll get them. It's too bad the Envelopes add-on isn't currently available -- there's always a possibility it will return once it meets Google's requirements to be in the G Suite Marketplace.

Deb, as noted above (if you read through this thread), you could try the add-on called Page Sizer to create a custom page size to match the size of your envelope. If your printer isn't able to print envelopes you could make labels to affix to your envelopes by using this add-on for Google Docs: Labelmaker: Avery Labels mail merge. You can get either of these by going to Add-ons (in the tool bar) > Get add-ons and then searching for it by name.
Once you find it, just press the blue Free button to add it to Docs. You can then access it by clicking on Add-ons in the tool bar to display all the add-ons you have.
Also as noted in this thread, the help communities are managed by volunteer product users (even the product experts are volunteers), not Google employees. We can offer assistance with troubleshooting and how-to questions, but we have no control over product improvements or general issues/complaints. There isn't any other way we can help you here other than to suggest possible workarounds.

Second, I don't know whether you've read the reviews of Page Sizer. I did, and the add-on seems pretty bad. It's also not clear to me how I can rotate the text 90º to fit the orientation of the envelope (which in my printer is fed through with the right-hand edge of the envelope leading, the envelope on its side).
I would have expected that by now Google would have included a way to do this common task.

Michael, these are currently the only options available. I have used Page Sizer and haven't had any issues with it. Each user's mileage may vary, but you won't know yours until you try it. You should be able to print the envelope either as is or by switching the page to "landscape" orientation -- it will all depend on your printer. You can test it out with a sample of paper cut to the size of the envelope if you don't want to waste an envelope when testing it.
If you want to see this feature added to Docs, please follow the steps I provided above. Again, the help communities are managed by volunteer product users -- we have no control over any of the features other users want.

I find it strange that envelope-printing is not yet included. Perhaps implementing that in the software presents greater difficulties than I imagine. In that case, kudos to Microsoft Word, which managed it quite handily.

Here's my solution.
1) Open a new blank document.
4) Under FILE->PAGE SETUP, set your all margins to ½”. Don't change anything else.
2) In the ADD-ONS menu select PAGE-SIZER.
3) In the PAGE-SIZER dialog box enter the w x l of 4 x 9.5. This will resize your document to #10 envelope.
4) To create the “mail to:” information, be sure your cursor is at the top of your document. In the INSERT menu select DRAWING.
5) In the DRAWING menu select the TEXT feature. Enter the mailing address on separate lines, e.g.
Name
Address
City, State Zip
6) Resize the bottom of your text box to just fit the text; then size the width to about 4”. Rotate the text box 90 degrees to the left, and place it in the lower right corner of the drawing box. Close your drawing box.
7) In the document with your drawing box selected, using the CENTER feature to put your drawing box in the middle of your envelope.
8) To create the “return to” information, be sure your cursor is below the “mail to” drawing box and LEFT alignment is selected, repeat steps 5-6. You may need to resize the width of your drawing box so all the information fits on the envelope.
8) To print, if your printer requires it, select the #10 envelope size. Insert your envelope in the printer (mine requires the printer side facing down), and print.
I hope this helps.

Now click Print. In the print menu click > more settings > paper size. Select the paper size that is close to what you need.
I was trying to print on #10 envelope which my HP at work shows as an option, but my Brother printer (home) had an option "Envelope you #4". It worked perfectly
Title the Doc Envelope. Now you can come back to it every time and replace the address, the format should be saved.
Happy Snail Mailing!!
