How to find word count of a doc in footnotes?

Using the tools option word count does not show me the footnote's word count.

I also cannot select all my foot notes simultaneously because it considers each footnote as a separate item apparently.

How can I find the word count of my foot notes?

For context, I am afraid that I am going over my assignment's word count limit.

Hi, Yun Yang,

Footnotes are not normally counted in the word count for a document, and therefore are not included in Google Docs word count either. Perhaps you could try this add-on for Google Docs: Word Counter Max for Google Docs.
