Table of contents show wrong page and links don't work.

I created a table of contents in my docs, however, only the first link works (Which includes the side bar, that isn't working as well), and only the two first items show the page they actually are in.

I tried to reset the list, I try to set up the headings again, and even making them headins 2 instead, I also tried creating a copy as I did had problems of the doc not updating in the past, but nothign's fixing it.

I don't know what I could have done to cause it, I only set as headings normally and created the table, but only the first item works as it should be.

Hi, and thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I'm unable to get to the bottom of it either. Because you have images upon images, it's difficult to know which layers are interfering with the heading text. I'm afraid you're just going to have to play around with this a bit more to determine if the background image or one of the other images is causing this problem, or whether the headings are too close to the header areas, or whether it is something else.

Your design is very clever and intriguing, though. I think you're pushing Docs to the max!

Hi there,

It would be difficult to say what is causing this without seeing the document directly. Would you be willing to share a copy of the file with editing permission so I could take a direct look at it and try to figure out what the problem might be? If so, please follow these steps:
  1. Open the document you need help with.
  2. Choose File > Make a copy.
  3. In the new copy of the document remove any sensitive information, or replace it with similar placeholder data.
  4. Choose File > Share
  5. Under Get link click the "Change" button and change the access to "Anyone with the link CAN EDIT."
  6. Copy the link from the SHARE BOX (not the URL bar).
  7. Click Done.
  8. Paste the link in a reply post in this thread.

Thank you! I think I pushed it too much it seems
I just tried that out, and aparently the link is working again after I remove the ornament around each heading, which is funny because the first one also has it and is working just fine.

What's weird is I checked out the document, and the links are not working for me for the "Fnake" onwards.
You said it was working but it's not entirely...
Are you experiencing this problem on your document too or is it just my computer or my Docs or something?

P.S.3. The document is fascinating, what's it about?

Yeah, aparently the ornament around the title text is messing it up for some weird reason I don't understand.

Don't worry about editing it, it was a copy, not the actual doc.

I'm glad you liked. You see I am in an roleplay server, and I have an island -and am a biologist- so I decided to make a "book" with the races that would be found in this fantasy place. So the doc is this book. In short, I'm just having fun creating fictional creatures on my spare time.
Glad to know it's working now after you removed the ornaments around the headings. Sometimes just the slightest change in the placement of an image can interfere with text links. I appreciate your reporting back!

Anemone27, when a product expert has already responded to a user, jumping into a thread is not always helpful. Doing so can cause distraction and confusion, especially when links are involved or responses are incorrect. Instead, I encourage you to answer posts that do not yet have a reply from a product expert.
