Import Range Internal Error

So it seems we've been hit by the recurring subject Google Sheets problem.  I've had several related sheets working perfectly for 2 years and today, ALL the cells that use IMPORTRANGE crapped out.  Reading online this appears to be a Google bug at its core with a few suggestions for some janky fixes i.e. change the capitalization of a few characters in the formula to see if the formula magically resets.  I've tried delete / copy / paste, messing with capitalization, the IFERROR trick, all with no result.  I even duplicated a sheet and tried to redirect a formula to the new URL, no dice.

These sheets are super important to our small business because we use them to track employee hours for payroll and billable labor for jobs.  Google for Business is failing us right now, pretty frustrated.

Hello there and other Sheets users, we have already escalated the issue to the product team for further investigation. We will loop back with more information. At the same time, we will mark this as duplicate because we have another post on "Internal error" as well. Thanks for your patience.

Hi

Quick question. The MAIN Data spreadsheet, lets call it DB. Can you make a duplicate of that and see if a importrange works to the new DB.

I have had similar issues and the reason was that there was too many live links to the DB after a year or 2. There is a limit.
The only thing that worked well was to duplicate the DB and point to the new doc.
The only other thing that worked in the past was to remove all access to the DB which severed the live links from other people.

Can you try this ..its a good place as any to start.

If I am understanding you wrong can you maybe share an example sheet so I can see there errors.

cheers

Yes the Main sheet (#1) is fundamentally a DB populated by a form (currently ~10,500 entries).  The Form responses were pulled into another tab via IMPORTRANGE where I do calculations on that data, essentially making a DB with more columns, and that DB+ tab serves as source data for several tabs of pivot tables.  I have since change that IMPORTRANGE formula to an ArrayForumla.  The sheet also uses IMPORTRANGE to pull data tables from another sheet (#2) which are used in the DB+ calcs.

There's another sheet (#3) that pulls data from one of the sheet #1 tabs to do calcs of its own.  That IMPORTRANGE formula in sheet #3 fails as well.

I did try a straight Copy Sheet of sheet #1 but that copy seemed to inherit the problem, it too did not want to IMPORTRANGE from sheet #2.  I also created a Test sheet and copied my IMPORTRANGE formula that pointed to sheet #1 and that failed too.  Its as if any attempt to use the sheet #1 URL fails or its corrupted.
